Recently, office of the Evangelical Church of Maraland (India) released the proposed programme of Maraland Gospel Centenary Celebrations to be held in late 2007 indicating a series of Celebrations to be held - two phases of celebration in September, and a grand programme in October and December 2007. The followings are the highlights of the proposed programmes:
According to this proposal there will be two phases of the Celebration in September. The First phase will be held at SAIKAO, the first pioneer missionary's home town from September 15 - September 16, 2007. The followings are the highlights of the proposed programme:
On Saturday - the night of 15th September 2007 there will be one Service at Congregational Church of India (Maraland) Church. On the following day, on Sunday morning i.e. 16th September 2007 an Inaugural Service will be held at the same Church. After the inaugural service there will be the inauguration of the Centenary Building, followed by the inauguration of a Pillar of Memorial Stone erected in the memory of the Pioneer missionaries. All these should have taken place till Sunday afternoon. On Sunday night Evening a Combine service will be held once again at the same Church.
The Second Phase of Maraland Gospel Centenary Celebrations will be held at SIAHA (Saiha), it will commence on 25th September 2007 and will come to an end on 26th September 2007. On 25th September 2007 night there will be Service. The following morning on 26th September at 10:00am the Custom-made Centenary Bell will be rung 100 times marking the historical moment of the Centenary; this will be followed by Service programme. On the same night there will be service too. Note: Centenary Bon-Fire programme will be organized and co-ordinated by ECM KTP (Young Men's Association) within Siaha town. However, outside Siaha town the same programme will be co-ordinated by Local KTP.
The third phase and the grandest of the Celebration will last a week and will be held at SIAHA from October 20 - 28, 2007. The followings are the highlights:
Arrival's Day : 20th October 2007.
21st October 2007 (Sun) : Morning & Evening Service.
22nd October 2007(Mon) : Inauguration of Centenary Building.
23rd October 2007(Tues) : Book release (Bible, Hymn, Church history, Souvenir, etc).
24th October 2007(Wed) : Exhibition of Archives and Cultural Programme.
25th October 2007(Thu) : Singing Competition to be Conducted by Assembly Music Committee.
26th October 2007(Fri) : Film and Drama
27th October 2007(Sat) : yet to programme.
28th October 2007(Sun) : yet to programme.
Evening Programme:
21st October 2007 (Sun) : Welcome Address.
22nd October 2007(Mon) : Greetings Nite.
23rd October 2007(Tues) : KNP Nite.
24th October 2007(Wed) : KHP Nite Co-ordinated by KTP
25th October 2007(Thu) :KTP Nite.
26th October 2007(Fri) : Lakher Pioneer Mission Nite i/c Mission Committee.
27th October 2007(Sat) : Missionary Nite.
28th October 2007(Sun) : Distribution of Prizes.
Mara Evangelical Church -MEC (Myanmar, Burmar) will hold Maraland Gospel Centenary Celebration Programme at Sabypi town in the whole month of December 2007. Everyone is invited to participate in the celebrations as well.
