Mizoram govt sanctions fund for Autonomous district councils

SIAHA, March 13, 2010 - Mara Autonomous District Council Chief Executive Member, Mr. S. Khipo said, the Government of Mizoram has accorded sanction for meeting the accummulated financial deficits of the three District Councils during the current financial year.



Talking to reporters in Saiha yesterday, the Chief Executive Member said, Mara Autonomous District Council is to get Rs 130 lakh while the Lai Autonomous District Council will get Rs 117 lakh.



He also said that Chakma Autonomous  District Council will also get Rs 55 lakh for meeting the outstanding deficits.



Mr. Khipo also expressed gratitude to the 13th Finance Commission which made a provision of Rs 710 crore for infrastructural development of Local Bodies for the next 5 years and the three District Councils in South Mizoram will also get a fair share out of the fund allocation.
