For Foreign Tourists :

Restricted Area Permit (RAP) :

Who requires RAP?
Foreign Tourist who wants to visit Border States in India-including Mizoram which which have classified as Restricted area by India Gov't.

Several areas mainly in the border States have been classified as restricted or protected, from the security angle. Foreigners need specific permit to visit this areas, in addition top the India wise.

For reasons of national security certain parts of the country, usually boarder districts have been declared as "Restricted or Prohibited Areas" and foreigners need Special Permits before they can visit places under this category.

Foreign Tourist can obtain RAP from the following office:

Ministry of Home Affairs
(Foreigners Division),
Lok Nayak Bhavan,
Khan Market,
New Delhi - 110 003.

:: RAP can be applied from Mizoram Houses also ::

Validity of permit:
15 days at a time which can be extended by another 15days or some more days according to the need which may arise due to circumtances.

At least 4 weeks before the date of expected visits.

Other agencies that can grant permission for the same are all FRROs
(Foreigners Regional Registration Office) at Delhi, Mumbai and Calcutta,
all Indian Missions abroad and various agencies of the state government
